With a reputation for British engineered excellence hart door systems has successfully completed projects at some of the largest global companies in sectors such as energy, high security, leisure and manufacturing. This demonstrates that their products are well suited for any building type and can provide protection against the elements whether it is fire, theft or exceptional weather events like hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons.
A major contract for a large number of doors at Nissan’s UK car plant, Sunderland, has been delivered by Hart Door Systems of Westerhope, Newcastle Upon Tyne. This project was undertaken through Sir Robert McAlpine and included the installation of a large three-tonne insulated roller shutter completing a work package of over 40 doors.

In a similar vein, the company has worked on a large contract at the Amazon distribution centre in Wakefield where a series of Speedor Storms have been installed to protect the site against crime and fire. These high speed doors are able to be opened and closed frequently without any degradation in performance so that the delivery and dispatch process is unaffected.
Another airport project saw a shipment of 16 fire-rated Speedor Storms being shipped from the factory to Mombasa in Kenya for installation at a new specialized terminal for dry bulk discharge and handling. These large external doors are designed to resist winds of up to 74mph and feature wind bracing every 1m in the curtain. This allows the door to remain fully operational during an extreme event such as a typhoon and has been fire tested by UL to a level that far exceeds the requirements for a BS:EN rated shutter.
